After her better half disappears, Sue Buttons (Allison Janney), an overlooked rural spouse, experiences being a nearby big name as she sets out on a city-wide inquiry in Yuba County to discover him.
With an end goal to delay her freshly discovered popularity, she unearths funny howdy jinks as her reality flips around, evading a wanna-be mobster (Awkwafina), a tenacious neighborhood police officer (Regina Hall), her relative (Mila Kunis) a nearby journalist frantic for a story, and her significant other’s miscreant sibling (Jimmi Simpson), who all set out to uncover reality behind the vanishing.
