Old 2021 DVD Cover. On a tropical vacation, a group of families discovers that the isolated beach where they are vacationing is causing them to age fast, compressing their whole lives into a single day.
Guy (Gael Garca Bernal), Prisca (Vicky Krieps), Maddox (Alexa Swinton), and Trent (Nolan River) are a family of four that arrive in a tropical resort in an unidentified location. The manager offers an exclusive trip to a neighboring beach on a private nature park.
They are welcomed into a rich multigenerational family, which comprises an English chief of surgery (Rufus Sewell), his elderly mother (Kathleen Chalfant), trophy wife Chrystal (Abbey Lee), and their 5-year-old daughter Kara. They also notice a solitary man in the area, whom tween Maddox recognizes as rapper Mid-Sized Sedan (Aaron Pierre).
Soon later, young Trent discovers a dead lady in the water: a fellow resort-goer who had gone to the beach earlier in the day with Mid-Sized Sedan. In the midst of the commotion, a last married pair appears: nurse Jarin (Ken Leung) and psychologist Patricia (Nikki Amuka-Bird), and it quickly becomes obvious that the beach has unimaginable consequences for everyone.
They’re all maturing at a rate of almost two years each hour, which causes the youngsters to swiftly morph into teen versions of Maddox (Thomasin McKenzie), Trent (Alex Wolff), and Kara (Katie Holmes) (Eliza Scanlen).
