The Father 2021 DVD Cover – Analysis
The Father 2021 DVD Cover is told mainly from the viewpoint of the disoriented, angry and disappointed Anthony (Hopkins) as he remembers those memories which seem to be not consistent with what he’s told.
The public sees his relationships with many people – his daughter, Anne (Olivia Colmán) and his caretaker Laura (Imogen Poots), a mysterious man whom it is not able to recognize first (Rufus Sewell).
This makes it difficult to trace what is really, what is present and who talks to Anthony who, though portrayed in these scenes by various actors, he assumes is Anne and her husband.
The details of Anthony’s life and that of his daughter blur and he’s not sure Anne’s divorced, married, moved to Paris for somebody or what they have for dinner! In the midst of his increasing confusion are moments of insight, teinted with feelings of extreme sadness and a possessivity which emphasizes a failure to control the mind of Anthony.
